Kwezi Ndyoko

Kwezi is originally from King Williams Town in the Eastern Cape. He came to Cape Town in 2002 to further his studies. He has over 8 years’ experience in Private Banking and is currently with Investec Private Bank. Having grown up in rural Eastern Cape, this has made him appreciate the power education has to change the lives of many. He is a tutor in the Grade 8 class and is grateful for the opportunity to give back.

Thina Tiyo

Thina is originally from East London in the Eastern Cape. Thina moved to Cape Town in 2007 where she completed her studies at the University of Cape Town. She currently works at Futuregrowth Asset Management and prior to joining FLY, she tutored maths to Grade 12 learners through another organisation which advocates for quality and equality in the South African education system. Thina is excited to be working with our country's next bright minds through FLY and igniting their passion for Maths!

Unam Mahlati

Unam is a second year CA(SA) trainee at Old Mutual. She completed her studies at the University of Cape Town. She has been involved in community work in her home town in East London, where she led a church soup kitchen group and visited children's homes. She enjoys playing sport and having a good time with friends. Unam serves as part of the grade 8 team.

Khuselwa Tom

Khuselwa joined FLY as an English tutor in 2015. She tutors the grade 8 and 9 classes. Her love for languages, especially the English language was her motivation to introduce this offering to FLY. Poetry and storytelling are her specialties. During the working hours of the week, you will find Khuselwa in the Bellville office of the South African Breweries (SAB) as a manager in the marketing and sales section.

Mila Mafanya

Mila grew up in the depths of the Eastern Cape in Emthatha. He was schooled in Grahamstown, is a UCT graduate and CFA Charterholder. He plys his investment trade at a boutique investment house in Cape Town. His association with FLY dates back to the founding days in 2010. He is currently a grade 8 maths tutor and serves of the FLY steering committee with oversight for the fundraising efforts of FLY. He derives a deep sense of reward from witnessing the “eureka moment” in young minds and he secretly harbours an intention to pursue an academic career at the end of his professional career.

Malibuye Tom

Having grown up in 3 provinces and 6 different towns and cities, Malibuye was exposed to different cultures, societies and circumstances at an early age. Empathy is something he finds easy to come by. A wealth manager at Personal Trust International by profession, he is one of the founding members of FLY. He's a grade 8 maths tutor and also serves on the Steering Committee as Secretary. His love for serving communities also extends to his involvement in rugby development at primary schools. Loyalty, team work and commitment are what he believes are the most important recipes to success

Zizile Ndziba

Zizile is originally from Flagstaff, a small town in the Eastern Cape, and she is a second year Chartered Accountant trainee at Old Mutual. Her passion for sustainable community development, education and her love for numbers led her to join the organisation.
As Nelson Mandela put it "Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world”, being a member of FLY has provided her with a great platform to contribute towards creating an educated and developed nation.

Khanya Matshikwe

Growing up with her grandfather who was a principal and her grandmother who was a teacher, Khanya has always valued education. Not mere learning but the practical doors that an inquisitive mind and a practical mind can open for you. As a qualified chartered accountant, the role that she plays at FLY is more than just tutoring maths but it is motive the learners to know that someone with a similar background to hers can and has succeeded in life.

Amanda Ramba

Amanda Ramba grew up in the dusty street of Gugulethu. She spent a lot of her working life in contract centre environment. She is currently working as a Recruitment Specialist for a financial services company, Directaxis. She has a passion for seeing people grow and develop. She finds joy in knowing that she made a meaningful contribution to someone else’s life. She lives her life with one slogan "I change lives."

Lynn Klaase

Lynn is a small town girl whom grew up in the northern suburbs of Cape Town. Since she was a little girl, she always valued how education can give us knew hope and enrich how mind-set and future standard of living. She understood that education has the power to give us hope and enable us to bless other people with the blessings that have been bestowed upon us. Helping others understand this has always been part of her DNA.

She also a committee member of the African Woman Chartered Accountants who reaches out to young female CA’s to inspire them to invest in their careers and she leads the social responsibility investment committee of abovementioned organisation’s training programme.

Asanda Kitsi

Asanda Kitsi grew up in Gugulethu and went to previously disadvantaged schools in the township. With the strong support from dedicated teachers of Thandokhulu High School, programmes such as Molo Songololo and Star Schools, she passed matric with six distinctions against the high odds that she faced. Having graduated with a B. Business Science from UCT, she knows from her personal experience the importance of additional support to help learners reach their academic potential. She joined FLY in 2013 as a Maths tutor.
