I was born and raised in Johannesburg; spending my formative years in Alexandra Township. I joined FLY after relocating from Johannesburg to Cape Town in 2015 to pursue PhD studies and research at the University of Cape Town Graduate School.
I am currently a lecturer in the Development Finance centre at UCTGSB specialising in Sustainable & Responsible Investment (SRI) and impact Investment. Prior to moving to Cape Town, I spent 10 years working in the financial services industry with leading organisations such as the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI), Absa and Alexander Forbes.
I am passionate about the socio-economic development of our people and continent. I have also experienced the positive impact of education in my own development as a black child from a township. These have influenced my career shift to finance with impact, continuous self-education; involvement with FLY as a tutor/mentor and involvement with, the Alexandra Education Committee (AEC) before moving to Cape Town.
I am a Chartered Development Finance Analyst, with a Masters in Development Finance from UCT, a BCom (Hons) in Business Management from UNISA and BCom in Finance & Economics from Wits University.
I enjoy the outdoors, travelling and performance arts.
